At Treadwell Gordon, our Trusts, Wills and Estates team is built around people. Families come to us during some of the most emotional and uncertain moments of their lives, and our team is committed to providing clarity, compassion, and practical guidance. No two estates are ever the same, and every client arrives with their own story. Our team works across the district to support clients with wills, enduring powers of attorney, estate administration, trusts, and related conveyancing matters. With satellite offices throughout the region, we make it easy for people to access help close to home.

A Team Focused on People

The team is led by Director Brittany Gibson. Brittany’s practice spans estates, employment and civil litigation. She is known for her practical approach and her ability to give clients confidence when matters become stressful or complex. A significant part of her work involves estate litigation. Brittany helps families uphold their loved one’s wishes and advocates for beneficiaries who have been left out of a will or treated unfairly. These matters often involve strained relationships and difficult conversations. Brittany focuses on reducing stress for her clients and progressing matters efficiently, whether through negotiation or by obtaining the necessary court orders. Clients value her clarity, empathy and strong advocacy.

Working alongside Brittany are three experienced Registered Legal Executives. Stephanie, Rebecca and Frances manage the transactional side of the team’s work. Together, they bring a wide range of skills and a shared commitment to supporting clients with care and efficiency.

Stephanie

Keeping Estates Moving with Care and Compassion

Stephanie works from the Whanganui and Marton offices. She handles wills, estates, trusts, conveyancing and KiwiSaver matters, and her work includes probate, administration, powers of attorney and trust administration. She values the relationships she builds with clients and understands that many people come to her during vulnerable moments. Stephanie is motivated by keeping matters moving and believes it is better for clients when things do not linger. She often steps in to tidy up issues that arise when people attempt to manage probates themselves, particularly younger clients who try online tools and then realise they need support. Her central location in Bulls means she can easily assist clients across several offices.

Frances

Empathy and Steady Guidance

Frances joined the firm in 2022 and brings close to twenty years of experience in estate administration and conveyancing. She handles estates from start to finish and is known for her ability to build trust with clients who may arrive anxious or overwhelmed. Her work often involves sensitive situations. Frances approaches every matter with patience and a reassuring presence. She enjoys meeting people and often finds herself working with clients she has known through other parts of her life, which helps create a sense of familiarity and ease.. Frances believes every situation is unique and takes pride in helping clients feel supported and understood throughout the process.

Rebecca

Taking Pressure Off Bereaved When It Matters Most

Rebecca specialises in estate administration and has been part of Treadwell Gordon since 2012. She manages a high volume of files and has seen estates become more complex in recent years, often taking around six months to wind up. Rebecca is motivated by helping people at a time when they should be able to focus on their grief rather than the stress of the estate. She works to take that pressure away by setting clear expectations and guiding families through each step of the process. Over the years she has supported multiple generations within the same families and has seen how important it is for people to have up to date wills and well considered appointments of executors. Her work often involves navigating unexpected situations, including estates where executors do not realise they had been appointed. Rebecca brings calm, structure, and empathy to every matter she handles.

A Supportive Team for Our Community

Across all four members, one theme stands out. This is a supportive team that works closely together and provides clear, reliable guidance for clients when they need it most. When there is no will and families are unsure where to turn, many come to Treadwell Gordon for Letters of Administration because they recognise the firm and trust that they will receive steady, practical help. Every estate is different and every family is different. Our Trusts, Wills and Estates team is here to help you navigate those moments with clarity and confidence.
