Treadwell Gordon December eNewsletter

Welcome

As we approach the end of 2023, we're hoping for brighter and warmer days ahead for what has been patchy weather so far this summer.

We're delighted to announce the winners of the Garry Spooner Scholarship - Amelia Bryant, Emelye Brown and Zeah Brewer who are joining us for the summer for paid work experience as well as receiving a monetary contribution towards their studies. We also share about what pro-bono services actually are and how they enable access to quality legal services.

We're shining the spotlight on Lindsay this month, who's assists clients with conveyancing and personal planning alongside Michael van Delden. We’d also like congratulate two of our staff members - Magnus Fraser for being admitted to the bar last month and Naomi MacLean in completing her legal executive studies.

The team will be taking a well-deserved break with our last day for 2023 being Thursday 21 December and we’ll be back from Monday 8 January. We wish you all a relaxing and restful break.

Cheers,

Simon, Pétra, Andrew, Richard, Kirsten & the team

Congratulations Naomi MacLean

Congratulations to Naomi MacLean who has just completed her legal executive studies and is now a Registered Legal Executive. Naomi has been with us since 2016 and is based in our Taihape office.

Pro-bono services – what does that mean?

As lawyers, we know how important it is to have access to quality legal services, especially when you are facing a challenging situation. However, we also understand that not everyone can afford to hire a lawyer, particularly a lot of the not-for-profit organisations in New Zealand. Not-for-profit organisations don’t operate for profit, personal gain or other [read more]

Pack the bus

At the end of November, the Treadwell Gordon team participated in the City Mission Whanganui and Property Brokers Whanganui "Pack the Bus" initiative.

The bus has been travelling around the Whanganui region, collecting unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items, animal food, and bedding. These donations are then passed on to the appropriate local charities to help bring joy to individuals and families in need during the festive/holiday season.

We loved being a part of this - what a great way to spread some holiday cheer and make a difference in our local community!
